If you haven’t read the first novel in this spicy, adventurous, badass, sci-fi/fantasy novel–now is your chance! Make Me Exist is on sale for 0.99 until Saturday only!
As most of you don’t know, yet-
Second Star to the Right has a few chapters from Adriem’s perspective! Which I am really excited about!
With less than two days until SSTTR is officially published, I am thrilled to drop the first couple of pages here on our blog, in Audiobook form!
Which gives me the opportunity to introduce the voice of our Adriem for the Audiobook! Todd Creel will be voicing Adriem’s chapters in book two, and he has been doing an absolutely wonderful job.
Claire Glover, our original voice actress, will be voicing a majority of SSTTR, but there are a few full chapters where we just needed to hear it straight from Adriem’s mouth-so here you have it!
The first couple of pages of Second Star to the Right, just before the sequel is released!
Writing book two has been a challenge! I’m happy to say I have officially decided on a title, & a gorgeous cover is in the works! ‘Second Star to the Right,’ is set to be released hopefully early February! (mayyyybe sooner! We shall see!!)
There is so much more going on with Second Star to the Right! It’s a bit longer than Make Me Exist, and has so many new characters!
The real struggle has been having past & future versions of characters together in the same timeline. We have characters that are just starting their arcs, & their future versions who have finished their arcs. It’s an interesting mix of how much do your experiences make you who you are, and how much of your reactions are just you.
I really play off memories in book two, contrasting the idea that memories do or don’t make up who we become.
There is also the aspect of Cyran & Adriem’s shared thoughts-which has been intriguing to play with. If you could hear, see, & feel everything another person had going on in their heads—how would that affect a relationship? How would the two people interact with one another?
Cyran is faced with a lot in book two, & I do want to warn everyone-it get’s heavy. Be prepared to laugh out loud, fall in love, fall out of love, scream, cry, and travel (across the globe and maybe even into space a bit!)
Thank you for all my readers support with Make Me Exist, I am so excited to continue this adventure with you all in this four part series ❤
“Kill me.” His eyes didn’t even look green as the shadows blotted out any light he had. He knew I was here. Rogue knew I wasn’t going to help him. “Do not leave me here alive, Cyran.” Adriem’s racing heartbeat was growing louder in thought and I knew I was beginning to fade in this time.
“I love you, Rogue.” It was hard to keep my gaze on him as his struggles began again. “I’m going to see you soon. You are going to be okay.” I wasn’t sure how many more days it would be before Adriem, Dev, and my father made it onto Achilla’s ship to rescue Rogue, but I knew how agonizing every waiting minute would be for Rogue. I took a step backwards and away from him, it was time to go. There wasn’t anything I could do. I wasn’t really here…
“I don’t want to be okay,” Rogue mumbled and a shiver ran across his features as his eyes fluttered close. “I’m not scared to die,” his pain was so exposed in his low voice. “I’m afraid of this. I’m afraid of living. Don’t leave me here alive.” The shadowed eyes drifted back to me and the pull that was dragging me away from Rogue was getting harder to fight.
“I have to go…I-”
“I want you to just choose me…” Rogue’s stare on me was fading as he surrendered to all of his hurt. “Choose me this one time…help me.” He looked as though he were peering directly through me, the greens murky and lost. If I could help you right now…I would choose you, Rogue. I would help you. “Kill me.” It didn’t seem as though he could see me any longer…I glanced down at my hands and saw what Rogue saw, just a whisper of me. A fading spector that wasn’t real.
“Do you want me to kill him?” Gawen’s voice seemed far away, much softer than Adriem’s heartbeat that was so profound in my thoughts. He stood behind Rogue and out of sight, the lights from the blinking holographic monitors intensifying his fiery red hair.
“No,” I forced my voice into this past as time began to drag me forward.
“Let him.” Rogue allowed his eyes to fully close and his body began to ease into the safety of sleep. “It’s okay to change things,” he mumbled, his head lolling on his chest as small tributaries of blood channeled down his body.
“Rogue will live,” I gritted my teeth and glared at Gawen. “And I will honor our agreement when we meet again.” I was so soft, my words so translucent. Did he hear me?
“Only time will tell, little goddess.” Gawen laughed slightly and turned away from Rogue. There was no more time here.
I am getting closer & closer to finishing book two and there are so many emotional moments sometimes I find it hard not to get lost during my normal day.
I always get so much inspiration while listening to music when I create scenes ❤️ playing each moment, gesture, thought & word out. Some of these songs have been listened to hundreds of times just to create a few pages. It’s only natural that the songs themselves would become chapter titles. Here is the line-up of chapters for book two (so far!). Excited to be a bit more then halfway done, with a first draft finish date of December 1st!
“Cyran and Charlotte are alive,” Roe insisted, his back turned to us as he gazed out over the moonlite laden field.
“There’s only one way to find out,” Dev piped up cheerfully, and the room felt as if it were perfectly still as my brother sent out waves of determination.
“I think it’s time to make me exist again,” I smiled at Dev across from me, the chameleon green of his eyes shining as I let the intense feeling of purpose take over. God he was so good at feeling out the room. “It’s time to rescue some lost girls from Neverland.”
